Introduction

Gamma allows you to easily share your docs, decks, and sites with others. Whether you need to collaborate with teammates or share a read-only link, Gamma’s sharing settings help control who can view, comment, or edit your content.

What Are Sharing and Collaboration Settings in Gamma?

🔷 Note: Your sharing and collaboration settings depend on your Gamma plan!

Here's a brief breakdown:

Feature

Plus

Pro

Share with anyone via link + control who can view

Collaborate with workspace members + set workspace permissions to control access

Hide “Made with Gamma” badge

Make your Gamma discoverable on the web

Require a password to view

How to Share a Gamma (Free, Plus, Pro)

  • Click the Share button at the top right of the screen.

Choose the access level:

  • No access - Users cannot view, comment, or edit.

  • View - Users can view, but not comment or edit.

  • Comment - Users can view and comment, but not edit.

  • Edit - Users can view, comment, and edit.

  • Copy the sharing link and send it to collaborators.

💎 Pro Tip: If you want to share a read-only version of your gamma, simply copy the link in the URL bar.

How Workspace Permissions Work (Free, Plus, Pro)

Workspace settings override individual sharing settings.

  • If your workspace is set to Members can edit, they will always have editing access - even if your gamma is set to Anyone with the link can view.

  • To set your gamma to be private (no one can view):

    • Ensure you click Share > Collaborate > Workspace Members > No access.

💎 Pro Tip: If you need stricter control over who can edit, adjust your workspace settings rather than just individual gamma sharing settings.

Why Does the "Made with Gamma" Watermark Appear?

The Gamma watermark appears on presentations when:

  • Created under a Free plan: Free users cannot export without the watermark attached. The badge remains tied to the presentation even after upgrading to a paid plan.

🔷 Note: The watermark may also appear when the gamma is shared by a Free account user: Even for paid subscribers, the badge persists unless specific steps are taken.

For Paid Plan Users (Plus or Pro Subscriptions)

Users can remove the "Made with Gamma" watermark via:

Method 1: Hide Branding in Shared Content

  • Open your presentation.

  • Navigate to the Share menu and click Advanced Settings.

  • Toggle Hide 'Made by Gamma' on. Refresh and re-share/re-export the content.

Method 2: Ensure Branding Is Removed from Exports

  • Confirm you're on a Plus/Pro plan via account settings.

  • Re-export the presentation. Note older exports retain watermarks.

  • Allow a few minutes for settings to apply and verify the export.

For Free Plan Users

If your presentation was created with a Free account or shared by a Free account user:

  • Duplicate to a Paid Workspace:

    • Open a blank project in a paid workspace.

    • Copy all cards from the shared presentation into the blank project.

    • Export or share the duplicated presentation to remove branding.

How to Index Your Gamma (Pro)

  1. Click on Share at the top of your screen.

  2. Under Advanced Settings, you can index your gamma by toggling on Make discoverable on the web.

  3. This will allow search engine indexing to be enabled!

How to Set a Password for a Shared Gamma (Pro)

  1. Click Share at the top of your gamma.

  2. Under Advanced Settings, toggle Require a password to view on.

  3. Set your password.

  4. Share the password with recipients so they can access the gamma. This means that only users with the password will be able to view your gamma.

FAQs & Common Issues

Why isn't the badge-hiding option available?

  • Confirm your subscription plan. The toggle may not be available for Free plans.

Why aren't changes reflected immediately?

  • Refresh your browser and retry exporting or sharing. For persistent issues, contact Gamma Support.

Why can’t my colleague edit the gamma, even though I shared it?

  • Check the following:

    • Ensure you have set their permission to "Edit" instead of "View" or "Comment."

    • If they are part of your workspace, check your workspace settings to see if their permissions are restricted.

Why isn’t my password-protected gamma opening for a recipient?

  • Ensure the recipient is entering the exact password you set.

  • If the issue persists, reset the password and share the new one.
