What is SSO?
Single Sign-On (SSO) is a secure authentication method that allows you to log in to Gamma using your organization's identity provider (such as Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, or OneLogin). When your organization sets up SSO, your IT administrators can require all employees with company email addresses to log in to Gamma using this method. This ensures consistent security policies and access controls across your organization.
Benefits of SSO:
One set of credentials: Use your existing company login instead of managing a separate Gamma password
Enhanced security: Your IT team manages security policies centrally
Seamless access: Quick login process once your identity provider is configured
Better compliance: Your organization maintains control over who can access Gamma
When your organization sets up SSO with Gamma, you'll authenticate through your company's login system rather than creating a separate Gamma password.
How do I know if my organization has enabled SSO?
You'll see a notification banner in Gamma when SSO is required for your email domain. You'll also receive email notifications at key milestones during the 30-day rollout period.
How to log in with SSO
If your organization has configured SSO for Gamma, follow these steps to log in:
Go to gamma.app
Click Log in
Click Continue with SSO
Enter your work email address
You'll be redirected to your organization's login page
Enter your company credentials as usual
Once authenticated, you'll be automatically logged into Gamma
What happens when your organization requires SSO?
When your IT administrator sets up SSO for your company's email domain (e.g., yourcompany.com
) and requires all employees to use it:
All users with
@yourcompany.com
email addresses will be required to use SSO to log in.You'll receive notifications in Gamma and via email about this change.
You'll have a 30-day grace period to prepare—during this time, you can still log in with your current method (Google or username/password) or start using SSO.
After 30 days, SSO becomes mandatory, and other login methods will no longer work for your company email.
What this means for you
When SSO becomes mandatory for your organization (after the grace period):
You'll need to log in with SSO - Any existing sessions will be logged out, and you'll need to use SSO to log back in
Your account stays the same - Your existing content, settings, and workspaces are preserved
You'll join your organization's workspace - You'll be automatically added as a member and have access to shared content
Ask IT for access - If you see an error like "User not assigned to this app," contact your IT administrator to grant you access to Gamma in your identity provider
Note: Your IT administrator must assign you to Gamma in your company's identity provider (like Okta or Google Workspace) before you can log in with SSO.
FAQ
Do I need to create a new account?
No. If you have an existing Gamma account with your work email, it will automatically be converted to use SSO when your organization requires it. Your content, settings, and preferences will be preserved.
Can I still use my personal workspace?
Yes, but you'll need to access it through SSO. If you have a personal workspace associated with your work email, you'll still be able to access it after logging in with SSO.
What if I want to keep using Gamma for personal projects?
If you've been using your work email for personal projects and your organization makes SSO mandatory, you'll need to log in with SSO. Consider creating a separate personal account with a personal email address (like Gmail) for non-work projects.
Will I lose access to my content?
No. All your existing content, gammas, and workspaces remain accessible. Requiring SSO only changes how you authenticate—it doesn't affect your content.
How long do SSO sessions last?
SSO login sessions last for 1 day. After 24 hours, you'll need to log in again through your organization's identity provider.
Can I use username and password to log in?
Once SSO is required for your email domain and the grace period expires, you must use SSO. Username and password authentication will no longer work for users whose email domain matches the organization's verified domain.
What if I'm already using Google login?
If your organization uses Google Workspace as its identity provider, you can continue clicking "Continue with Google" and you'll automatically be routed through SSO. Otherwise, you'll need to use the "Continue with SSO" option.
