How do I merge slides and combine gammas?

How to merge slides in Gamma, how to combine Gamma presentations, or how to copy and paste slides between gammas.

Introduction

Gamma allows you to streamline your content by merging multiple slides within a gamma or copying slides from one gamma into another. Follow the steps below to efficiently manage and organise your content.

Option 1: Merging Slides Within a Gamma

🌀 Insight: If you want to combine two or more slides in the same gamma, you can use the merge feature.

Step 1: Select the Slides to Merge

  1. Open your gamma.

  2. Locate the 2 slides you want to merge.

  3. Click the top-left three-dot menu (…) of a slide to select the bottom slide.

Step 2: Merge the Slides

  1. Click Merge into Slide Above from the options menu.

  2. The selected slide will be merged into the slide above it.

  3. You can repeat this process for however many slides you want to merge together.

Option 2: Combining Two Gammas

🌀 Insight: Gamma does not have a built-in way to merge entire gammas, but you can manually transfer content using the copy-paste method or the copy shortcut.

Step 1: Select All Slides in a Gamma

  1. Open the gamma you want to merge into another.

  2. Press Cmd + A (Mac) or Ctrl + A (Windows) twice using the filmstrip (left-hand bar) to select all slides.

Step 2: Copy & Paste into Another Gamma

  1. Press Cmd + C (Mac) or Ctrl + C (Windows) to copy the selected slides.

  2. Open the gamma where you want to paste the content.

  3. Press Cmd + V (Mac) or Ctrl + V (Windows) to paste the copied slides.

🔷 Note: The pasted slides will retain their content and formatting but will inherit the theme of the new gamma.

Can I merge more than two slides at once?

  • No, you can only merge two slides at once. However, you can repeat this process individually to merge multiple slides together using the Merge into Slide Above option.

What happens to formatting when I paste slides into a new gamma?

  • The slides retain their content but will adopt the theme of the new gamma.

Can I undo a merge if I change my mind?

  • Yes! Use Cmd + Z (Mac) or Ctrl + Z (Windows) to undo the action immediately after merging.
