How do I add toggles and footnotes in Gamma?

How to collapse content with toggles, add footnotes, and what happened to nested slides in Gamma 5.

Introduction

Toggles and footnotes keep busy slides clean. Toggles hide extra detail until someone clicks to open it. Footnotes hold references and side notes without cluttering your main text.

How to Add a Toggle

  1. Click where you want the toggle, type /toggle, and press Enter. You can also click Add block and search for Toggle.

  2. Type the text you want always visible, then add the hidden content underneath.

  3. Click the ▸ arrow to collapse or expand it.

How to Add a Footnote

  1. Click right after the word you want to add a note to.

  2. Type /footnote and press Enter. Or open the … menu in the toolbar and choose Create footnote (⌘+Option+F on Mac).

  3. Type your note in the popover that opens.

How to Delete a Footnote

  1. Click the footnote number.

  2. Click … in the popover, then choose Delete footnote.
