How does credit pooling work for Business and Enterprise?

Learn how shared workspace credit pools work, how Business and Enterprise credits are structured, and how admins add credits to the pool.

Introduction

Credit pooling lets Business and Enterprise workspaces share credits across the whole team, so no one gets stuck mid-project just because their individual balance ran dry.

🔷 Note: Only Business and Enterprise workspaces can pool credits. Free, Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans use individual credits that cannot be shared.

Two ways to structure credits

Seat credits plus a shared pool

Each member gets their own monthly seat credits, and the workspace also has a shared pool. Members use their individual credits first, then draw from the pool.

Available on Business and Enterprise.

Fully pooled

Every member draws from one shared workspace balance, with no individual allocations. Available on Enterprise only.

What order are credits used in?

When you generate or edit with AI, credits are drawn in this order:

  1. Your personal plan credits.

  2. Your purchased credits.

  3. The shared workspace pool.

How do admins add credits to the pool?

On Business, workspace admins fund the shared pool through one-time credit purchases or auto-recharge from Settings > Billing.

🔷 Note: On Business plans, individual credit purchases are automatically added to the workspace pool as workspace credits.

On Enterprise, credit setup is custom to your agreement, and your account team adds credits to the pool as needed. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager if your pool is running low.

What changed for existing Business customers?

  • Self-serve Business: You keep your current seat credits and gain access to workspace pooling.

  • Sales-managed Business: Your workspace moved to the Enterprise plan, with additional credits managed through your Customer Success Manager.

FAQs & Common Issues

Are credits shared across my team?

  • On Business and Enterprise, yes. Members draw from the shared workspace pool once their individual credits are used, or entirely from the pool on fully pooled Enterprise setups.

  • On Free, Plus, Pro, and Ultra, no. Credits stay tied to each individual account.

What happens when the workspace pool runs out?

  • Admins can add more credits through a one-time purchase or by enabling auto-recharge so the pool tops up automatically.

  • Enterprise customers can contact their Customer Success Manager to add credits.

Do workspace credits expire?

  • Workspace credits expire a year after the plan subscription has been cancelled.
