How do I use folders in Gamma?
Folders help you stay organized by grouping your gammas into collections that make sense to you. Whether you're sorting by project, client, or content type, folders keep your dashboard tidy and your most important gammas easy to find.
🔷 Note: Folders are available on all plans. However, on Business and Teams plans, folders are only accessible when workspace sharing is enabled. If your admin has disabled workspace sharing, folders will not be visible.
Creating a Folder
You can create as many folders as you need directly from your Gamma dashboard.
Step 1: Open Your Dashboard
Navigate to the Gamma home page (dashboard).
Step 2: Create a New Folder
In the left-hand sidebar, click the + next to Folders.
Your new folder will appear in the sidebar, ready to be named.
Step 3: Name Your Folder
Type a name for your folder and press Enter to save it.
Adding Gammas to a Folder
Once you've created a folder, you can move gammas into it in a couple of ways.
Option 1: Drag and Drop
From your dashboard, drag any gamma and drop it onto the folder name in the left-hand sidebar.
Option 2: Use the Three-Dot Menu
Hover over the gamma you want to organize.
Click the three-dot menu (…) that appears.
Select Add to folder.
Choose the folder you want.
💎 Pro Tip: A gamma can belong to multiple folders at once — great for gammas that span more than one project or team.
Viewing Folder Contents
To browse the gammas in a folder, click the folder name in the left-hand sidebar. The main content area will update to show only the gammas in that folder.
You can switch between Grid View and List View within a folder, just like on your main dashboard.
Removing a Gamma from a Folder
Click on the folder to open it.
Hover over the gamma you want to remove.
Click the three-dot menu (…).
Select Remove from folder.
🔷 Note: Removing a gamma from a folder does not delete it. It will still appear in your main Gammas view.
Renaming or Deleting a Folder
Rename a Folder
Right-click the folder name in the sidebar, or hover and click the three-dot menu (…) next to it.
Select Rename.
Type the new name and press Enter.
Delete a Folder
Right-click the folder name in the sidebar, or hover and click the three-dot menu (…) next to it.
Select Delete.
🔷 Note: Deleting a folder does not delete the gammas inside it. Your gammas will still be accessible from your main Gammas view.
Folders on Business and Teams Plans
If your workspace is on a Business or Teams plan, folders are a shared organizational feature, but they require workspace sharing to be active.
If workspace sharing is enabled, folders are visible and fully functional for all workspace members.
If workspace sharing is disabled by your admin, folders will not appear in the dashboard. To restore access, a workspace admin will need to re-enable workspace sharing in Settings & Members.
FAQs & Common Issues
Can a gamma be in more than one folder?
Yes. A single gamma can belong to multiple folders at the same time.
Adding it to a second folder does not remove it from the first.
I deleted a folder - did I lose my gammas?
No. Deleting a folder only removes the folder itself.
All gammas that were in it are still available in your main Gammas view.
I'm on a Teams or Business plan and I can't see any folders. What's going on?
Folders on Teams and Business plans require workspace sharing to be enabled.
If folders are not visible, contact your workspace admin and ask them to check the workspace sharing setting under Settings & Members.
I removed a gamma from a folder - where did it go?
Removing a gamma from a folder does not delete it.
You can find it in your main Gammas view or by searching your dashboard.
Can I nest folders inside other folders?
Nested folders are not currently supported.
