Introduction
Creating in Gamma starts with a conversation, not a perfect prompt. Tell the agent what you're making, and it asks a few smart questions, shows you its plan, and then builds the whole thing — research, writing, design, and images — end to end. When something isn't right, you just say so, and the agent fixes it with your original goal in mind.

How does the create flow work?
Step 1: Start with a prompt
From your dashboard, describe what you want to make in the prompt bar. A sentence is plenty, but you can add as much as you like. You can paste in notes, attach files, choose a template, or pull in content from your connected tools.

Step 2: Answer a few quick questions
Before building anything, the agent asks a handful of questions based on your prompt, things like your goal, your audience, and what matters most. Each question comes with tappable options as well as the option to type in your own guidance, so answering doesn’t take long.

Step 3: Review the plan
The agent turns your answers into a plan: a guide for your gamma covering the story it will tell, the style it will use, and the look and feel. Review it, adjust anything you like, and give the go-ahead. The agent won't start building until you do.

Step 4: Let the agent build
The agent builds your gamma end to end: researching, writing, designing, and generating images, while narrating its progress as it works. This way, you can see what it's doing and why. When it's done, your gamma opens ready to review.
How do I make changes?
You don't need to start over, and you don't need special commands. Tell the agent what feels off, in your own words, right in the chat:
"Tighten the exec summary."
"Slide 4 is too text-heavy - make it more visual."
"Make the tone more formal."
The agent edits with the full context of your gamma and your original goal, so "tighten the exec summary" makes it tighter, not different. It makes the change and shows you what it did, and you always have the final say.
You can also just edit by hand at any time. Move, resize, and rewrite directly, and the layout adapts. Ask the agent for the big changes, and make the small ones yourself, whichever is faster for you.
Can I change the look without starting over?
Yes. If the content is right but the design isn't landing, ask for a new look instead of regenerating. The agent offers a few style directions to choose from, then restyles your gamma in place — your content, structure, and edits stay put while the look changes around them.

Why does Gamma ask questions before generating?
The questions aren't friction, they're how the agent works smarter on your behalf to align with your expectations.
A minute of alignment up front means your first version is much closer to what you actually meant, so you spend less time revising.
Do I have to answer every question?
No. Choose Decide for me on any question, or tell the agent to skip the questions and use its best judgment.
The more you answer, the closer the first draft lands but it's always your call.
I already know exactly what I want. Can I skip straight to generating?
Yes. Give the agent a detailed prompt and tell it to decide the rest, and it will move straight through to the brief.
If you're bringing finished content, say so! For example, "use this text as-is", and the agent will build around it rather than rewriting it.
Why does it take longer than the old generator?
If you’re in a rush and want the agent to skip straight to a first draft deck, just tell it that, and it will do it.
The reason why it takes longer is that the agent is doing more: understanding your goal, researching, planning a story, and designing each slide to fit.
You can watch its progress in the chat while it works, and the payoff is a first version that needs less fixing.
If I ask for a change, will it rewrite my whole gamma?
No. Revisions are targeted - the agent changes what you asked about and shows you what it changed.
Your other slides, and any edits you've made by hand, stay as they are.
If you ask for a change that requires rewriting the entire gamma, eg “rewrite this deck for fifth graders”, it can rework the entire deck for you too.
Can I still edit everything myself?
Yes, always. Every gamma is fully editable by hand, and the layout adapts as you move and resize things instead of breaking.
You have the final say on everything the agent makes.
Can I use my own images when generating a presentation with Agent?
Yes! Before you submit your prompt, click the + button in the prompt bar and select Upload Files. Gamma will use your uploaded images to illustrate the presentation instead of sourcing or generating images automatically.
This works for any file type Gamma supports (PNG, JPEG, GIF). There's no limit to how many you upload — add as many as you like before hitting generate.
Once your presentation is generated, you can still add or swap images at any time using the /image slash command or the insert menu in the editor.
