How to Generate AI Animations in Gamma

🌀 Insight: You can create animations in Gamma using two methods: the slash command, and the insert menu.

Option 1: Using the Slash Command

  1. Click on a card in your gamma

  2. In your gamma, type /animations

  3. Select AI animations from the dropdown menu

Option 2: Using the Insert Menu

  1. Click the image icon from the insert menu on the right-hand side.

  2. Select AI animations

Option 3: Creating a gamma

  1. Click Image Source when creating a gamma under Customize your gamma

  2. Select AI animations

  3. Click Generate

🔷 Note: This feature is only available for Ultra users.

Generating AI Animations in the Editor

  1. Enter a text description of the animation you want

  2. (Optional) You can adjust the aspect ratio and image model

  3. Click Generate to create an AI-generated animation

🔷 Note: This feature is only available for a select few AI image models for best results

Editing AI Animations

Step 1: Open up your AI Animation

  1. Locate the AI-generated animation in your gamma

  2. Click on your animation to select it

Step 2: Toolbar menu

  1. A toolbar will appear above or below the selected animation

  2. You’re able to align, crop, leave a comment, or add a click action

  3. If you’d like to regenerate your animation, click Edit to prompt to generate a new one

Editing AI Animations with Agent

Step 1: Open up your AI Animation

  1. Locate the AI-generated animation in your gamma

  2. Click on your image to select it

Step 2: Click ‘Edit with Agent’

  1. A toolbar will appear above or below the selected animation

  2. Click the Edit with Agent button

FAQs & Common Issues

Can I edit animations that weren’t generated with AI?

  • No - currently, AI editing only works on animation created using Gamma’s built-in AI animation tool

Can I undo my edits?

  • Yes! Use the undo button or press Cmd + Z (Mac) or Ctrl + Z (Windows) to revert changes.

Do animations work with all image models?

  • AI animations are currently only available for a select few image models:

    • Leonardo Motion 2

    • Leonardo Motion 2 Fast

    • Luma Ray 2

    • Luma Ray 2 Flash

    • Veo 3.1

    • Veo 3.1 Fast

Are AI animations available for Free plans?

  • No - currently, AI animations are only available for users with the Ultra plan
