Introduction
If you're using Gamma with a team, your subscription is based on the number of users in your workspace. This guide explains how per-member billing works so there are no surprises on your invoice.
What is Per-Member Billing?
🌀 Insight: Per-member billing means you are charged for each active user in your workspace. This applies to all paid plans.
For example, if you're on the $20/month plan and have 2 users, your total monthly bill will be $40. If you want to reduce your bill, you can remove users from your workspace at any time.
How to Manage Members in Your Workspace
Step 1: Open Workspace Settings
On the Gamma dashboard, click the dropdown menu in the upper-left corner of your Gamma dashboard and select Settings.
Step 2: Review Current Members
Go to the Members tab to view all active members.
Step 3: Remove Extra Members (If Needed)
Click on the member you'd like to remove, in the Role dropdown.
Select Remove from workspace.
You'll be asked whether to Remove all access or Convert to guest. Guests don't take up paid seats, so either option frees the seat.
Step 4: Reduce Your Seat Count
🔷 Note: Removing a member from your workspace does not automatically reduce your billed seat count. You must also update the seat count manually to stop being charged for the removed seat.
In Settings, stay on the Members tab and click Manage seats.
Reduce the seat count to match your current number of active members.
Click Update seats to confirm. Your next invoice will reflect the updated seat count.
FAQs & Common Issues
Why am I still being billed for removed members?
If you added users but didn't pay the added charges immediately, Gamma will still collect those charges — even after users are removed. This typically resolves after the outstanding balance is settled on your next billing cycle.
If the charges look incorrect or you need help reviewing your invoice, let us know and we can look into your billing details.
