Introduction to Credits in Gamma
Credits are used for AI features throughout Gamma. Credit consumption rates and the actions that consume credits are subject to change.
🔷 Note: On the Free plan, all AI actions use credits, and credits do not refresh.
Once your initial credits are used, you must either earn more through referrals or upgrade to a paid plan.
Understanding Credit Usage
Create with AI: 40 credits per gamma you create.
Add card with AI: 5 credits per card you create.
Chat with AI: 10 credits per AI suggestion (eg finding images, rewriting content, etc.). You are not charged for errors or clarifications.
AI images: 10 credits per image prompt.
Continue with AI: 2 credits each time you use /continue or +++
API usage: See access and pricing here

Click on your avatar at the bottom left of Gamma to see your available credits.
Do Credits Refresh?
On the Free plan, all AI actions use credits, and credits do not refresh. Once your initial credits are used, you must either earn more through referrals or upgrade to a paid plan.
This also ensures you never run out too quickly and can still save by paying upfront!
🔷 Note: On both annual and monthly paid plans, your credits will refill monthly. You also have the option to purchase more credits.

Do Credits Rollover?
Yes, your credits will roll over up to a certain extent. Unused credits rollover up to double the plan size.
For example, if you are on our monthly Plus Plan with 1,000 credits, then you can have up to 2,000 credits at any time.
If you are on our annual Plus Plan with 1,000 credits, credits will function the same way as monthly, with credits issued monthly (not all upfront), and you can rollover up to 2x your plan size, so up to 2,000 credits.

💎 Pro Tip: If you're on the free plan, you can earn 200 credits per referral.
Free accounts can have up to 2,000 credits at once per user. As you spend credits, you can keep earning more. There's no limit to how much you can earn overall!
How to Refer a Friend / Invite a Teammate
Click the credits balance at the top right of your home page.
Select Refer a friend.
Copy and share your unique referral link.
You’ll receive 200 credits after your friend signs up.

What happens if I run out of credits on a paid plan?
You will still be able to use all non-AI features, and can manually edit. To obtain more credits, please see How to get more credits above.
Can I purchase more credits?
Yes, if you are on a paid plan, you have the ability to purchase additional credits.

Why aren’t my referral credits showing?
Your referral must sign up for Gamma using your unique link. You’ll only see the credits added once the signup is complete. Referral credits can accumulate up to 2,000 at once per user. If you have 2,000 credits and you refer another friend, you won't receive 200 credits for them. As you spend credits, you can keep earning more.
How many credits do I get when I sign up?
Each new free user receives 400 credits when initially signing up. Users who subscribe to a paid plan will receive the monthly credit allowance for that plan immediately.
Can I transfer my credits to another account?
No, AI credits are tied to your individual account and cannot be transferred or shared.
Will I be charged credits if an AI response has an error?
No, you will not be charged credits for AI errors or clarification requests.
Why do the annual plans have the same credit amounts as monthly plans?
Annual plans include the same monthly credits as monthly subscriptions but at your annual plan's discounted rate. This also ensures you never run out too quickly and can still save by paying upfront.
I cancelled my subscription and now I don't have credits - why?
If you set your plan to cancel, you have until the end of the billing cycle to use your credits and plan-specific features. Once your subscription has ended, any remaining credits above 400 will be removed, and you will have access to everything included in our free plan.
