Introduction to Credits in Gamma
Credits are used to measure advanced AI usage.
🔷 Note: On the Free plan, all AI actions use credits, and credits do not refresh. Once your initial credits are used, you must either earn more through referrals or upgrade to a paid plan.
On paid plans, presentations and images with standard models are included, and your plan's monthly credits are only used for:
Agent
Ultra AI models (if available on your plan)
API access (if available on your plan)
Understanding Credit Usage
Free Users:
Create with AI: 40 credits for generating a new deck, document, or webpage.
AI images: 2 credits per image created.
Continue with AI: 2 credits each time you use /continue or +++.
Paid Users:
Chat with Agent: 1-20 credits per AI suggestion (eg. finding images, rewriting content).
Add card with Agent: 5 credits per card you create.
API usage: See access and pricing here

Click on your avatar at the top right of Gamma to see your available credits.
Do Credits Refresh?
On the Free plan, all AI actions use credits, and credits do not refresh. Once your initial credits are used, you must either earn more through referrals or upgrade to a paid plan.
On both annual and monthly paid plans, your credits will refill monthly.
🌀 Insight: Annual plans include the same monthly credits as monthly subscriptions but at your annual plan's discounted rate.
This also ensures you never run out too quickly and can still save by paying upfront.
Do Credits Rollover?
Yes, your credits will roll over up to a certain extent. Unused credits rollover up to double the plan size.
For example, if you are on our monthly Plus Plan with 1,000 credits, then you can have up to 2,000 credits at any time.
If you are on our annual Plus Plan with 1,000 credits, credits will function the same way as monthly, with credits issued monthly (not all upfront), and you can rollover up to 2x your plan size, so up to 2,000 credits.

Earn credits through referrals
💎 Pro Tip: If you're on the free plan, you can earn 200 credits per referral.
Free accounts can have up to 2,000 credits at once per user. As you spend credits, you can keep earning more. There's no limit to how much you can earn overall!
Here’s how to refer:
Click the credits balance at the top right of your home page.
Select "Refer a friend".
Copy and share your unique referral link.
You’ll receive 200 credits after your friend signs up.

FAQs & Common Issues
What happens if I run out of credits on a paid plan?
You will still be able to generate unlimited AI creations on your paid plan, as well as use all non-AI features. Running out of credits only affects the premium features that require them, such as Agent, API, and Ultra image models.
Can I purchase more credits?
Credit purchases are coming soon. Until then: Agent does not require credits for paid users, API users can upgrade to Ultra for more credits, and your monthly credits refresh automatically on your plan date.
Do my credits roll over?
Yes, your credits will roll over, up to a certain extent. Unused credits rollover up to double the plan size. Why aren’t my referral credits showing?
Your referral must sign up for Gamma using your unique link. You’ll only see the credits added once the signup is complete. Referral credits can accumulate up to 2,000 at once per user. If you have 2,000 credits and you refer another friend, you won't receive 200 credits for them. As you spend credits, you can keep earning more.
How many credits do I get when I sign up?
Each new free user receives 400 credits when initially signing up. Users who subscribe to a paid plan will receive the monthly credit allowance for that plan immediately.
Can I transfer my credits to another account?
No, AI credits are tied to your individual account and cannot be transferred or shared.
Will I be charged credits if an AI response has an error?
No, you will not be charged credits for AI errors or clarification requests.
Why do the annual plans have the same credit amounts as monthly plans?
Annual plans include the same monthly credits as monthly subscriptions but at your annual plan's discounted rate. This also ensures you never run out too quickly and can still save by paying upfront.
I cancelled my subscription and now I don't have credits - why?
If you set your plan to cancel, you have until the end of the billing cycle to use your credits and plan-specific features. Once your subscription has ended, you will have access to everything included in our free plan.
