Workspace Templates
Workspace Templates let you turn any gamma into a reusable template you can duplicate or customize with AI (using our Remix feature), making it easy to maintain consistent formatting and design across your team and speed up repetitive workflows. Workspace Templates are available on all plans, including Free.

Where can I find workspace templates?
Click the Templates tab in the left sidebar of your dashboard. You'll see two sections:
Workspace -- your team's templates, organized into Workspace templates, Recent, Created by you, and Archived.
Explore -- click Explore templates to browse Gamma's ready-made template gallery.
How do I create a template?
From the Templates tab:
Click + Add a gamma.
Search for the Gamma you'd like to add to your workspace templates and click Create template.
Name your template for its use case. For example, "Monthly Metrics Review" or "Sales Demo".
Click Save copy as template.
You will now see your template listed under Workspace templates.
💎 Pro tip: You can also turn any gamma into a template by clicking on the three-dot menu (…) from the dashboard, or via the three-dot menu (…) in the editor.
How do I use templates?
Click the Templates tab in the left sidebar.
Hover over a workspace template and choose:
Use template to start a new gamma from it.
Open in editor to edit the template itself.
To make a plain copy without changing it, click the three-dot menu (…) next to the template and select Duplicate template.
FAQs & Common Issues
Where can I find Gamma's ready-made templates?
Click Templates in the left sidebar, then Explore templates.
Use the filters to narrow things down by Format (Presentation, Document, or Social carousel), Category (like Report, Proposal, Pitch deck, or Lesson), or Topic, or search by keyword.
Click a template to preview it, then click Use template to start a new gamma from it.
Gamma's ready-made templates are separate from your workspace templates. Workspace templates are the ones you and your team create and share.
Are workspace templates a paid feature?
No. Workspace Templates are available on all plans, including Free.
How are workspace templates different from Remix?
Remix is just the functionality that lets you use a gamma as a starting point for another gamma. You can remix a workspace template or a regular gamma. Workspace templates let you organize and centralize the gammas you want to remix on a regular basis.
Will using a workspace template edit the original?
No, templates are saved as copies of the original, so your original will always be untouched.
Who can create or edit templates?
Anyone in your workspace can create templates. On Enterprise, admins can limit who can create them.
Editing access depends on each template's sharing settings.
Can I make a workspace template private?
Yes. Each template has its own sharing settings, on every plan. You can keep it private, share it with specific people, or share it with the whole workspace. An icon on each template shows who can access it.
A new template starts with your workspace's default sharing setting, so it isn't private unless you change it.
Which templates show up as suggestions on my homepage?
Up to 6 of your workspace's own templates, with the most recently edited first.
If your workspace doesn't have any templates yet, you'll see a selection of Gamma's ready-made templates instead.
Suggestions aren't based on how often a template is used.
Can I choose which templates a specific group sees?
You can't target homepage suggestions to a specific group.
On Enterprise, sharing a template with a group makes sure everyone in it can find the template in Templates, but it won't necessarily appear in their homepage suggestions.
Can I share a workspace template with someone outside my workspace?
Yes! When you share a workspace template link with someone outside your workspace, they'll see an Add to my workspace button in the template editor banner. Clicking it automatically copies the template, its theme, and any template instructions into their own workspace, no manual duplication or separate theme sharing link required.
