Introduction

Customizing your webpage's title and description helps improve search engine rankings and controls how your content appears when shared on social media. Gamma allows you to easily manage this from within the page settings.

What Is Page Title and Description Customization?

The title and description fields determine how your page appears in search engine results and link previews on platforms like LinkedIn, X, and Facebook. These fields are also known as meta title and meta description.

How to Customize Webpage Titles and Descriptions

Step 1: Access Page Setup

  1. Open your site in Gamma.

  2. In the left panel, locate the page you want to customize.

  3. Click the ellipsis ("...") next to the page name.

  4. Select "Page setup…" from the dropdown.

Step 2: Open the Preview Menu

  1. Inside Page setup, click "Preview" to view your page's meta information.

Step 3: Customize Title and Description

  1. Enter your desired page title — this will appear as the clickable headline in search results.

  2. Enter a concise page description — this should summarize the content and entice clicks.

  3. Click "Publish" to apply your changes.

Pro Tip: For best results, keep titles under 60 characters and descriptions under 160 characters to avoid text being cut off in search results.
