As a Gamma user, you have the flexibility to create and host your own website using Gamma's subdomain (gamma.site). However, if you opt for a custom domain, you'll need to upgrade your subscription to Pro (monthly or annual) and then purchase the domain from a domain provider. Don't worry, we support all major domain providers!
Custom vs. Gamma domains
Here's how to go about changing domains:
1. Initiate the Process: Start the process within the website builder you're using (e.g., Squarespace), rather than your domain provider (e.g., Namecheap).
2. Disconnect the Central Domain: Unlink the central domain from your site.
3. Connect a New Subdomain: Establish a new subdomain.
4. Check DNS Settings: Review the DNS settings of the attempted connection, which will indicate the DNS entries that Squarespace requires.
5. Update DNS Entries: Access Namecheap's DNS registry for your domain and create the required entries.
6. Refresh DNS Records: Return to Squarespace, refresh the DNS settings, and ensure the records are updated. Your Squarespace pages should now be accessible via the subdomain, allowing you to link your Gamma site to your central domain.
Once you've successfully completed these steps, proceed to Gamma and follow the instructions below.
