How do I set up workspace custom instructions?
From your dashboard, go to Library > Custom Instructions.
Write your instructions. Be specific and use positive statements. "Use our brand color #4F46E5 for accents" works better than "make it look right".
Save
That's it. Your instructions now apply automatically to every AI generation in your workspace.
💎 Pro tip: Word your instructions deliberately. Absolute wording like "always", "never", or "must" is treated as a firm rule that overrides what individual users type. Softer wording like "prefer" or "try to" sets a default that users can override in their prompts. Save firm rules for true policy, like brand and legal requirements.
Who can create and edit workspace custom instructions?
Only workspace admins can create or edit workspace custom instructions.
Members can view the workspace instructions, but they cannot edit them.
Members don't need to do anything to opt in - workspace instructions apply to their generations automatically.
How do workspace instructions work with personal instructions and prompts?
Workspace instructions stack with each member's personal custom instructions, their typed prompt, and any template instructions. When they conflict, Gamma resolves them with a consistent priority order: workspace firm rules always apply, while workspace preferences yield to what's closer to the individual request. Gamma will let members know when a workspace rule shaped their result.
